The Tears of Nerakhis Matte Poster — Fantasy Musical Art Print
from ÂŁ18.00

This matte vertical poster brings the world of The Tears of Nerakhis into your space. At its centre stands Calanthe in her iconic orange dress, framed by two celestial halos: a crown of stars against the dark night sky, the crown of Nerakhis, and a procession of twenty golden horses pulling the radiant Sun-chariot of Reikwald. Beneath the dome of these two gods, the twin moons take center stage while Alea stands nearby, and a series of side characters emerge along the edges of the composition, completing the scene.

Watch the behind-the-scenes of the making of this poster in the video below.

A myth turned musical

The Tears of Nerakhis tells the story of Calanthe, a human girl who falls in love with Alea, the daughter of Nerakhis, god of the night. Set in a mythical world shaped by two opposing gods (Nerakhis, god of nature and night, and his brother Reikwald, god of the sun and humanit)the story follows their escape and journey through a growing conflict between the natural world and the world of men.

Blending romance, epic narrative, and tragedy, the novel presents a contemporary myth about love, loyalty, and the cost of humanity defying nature.

The book was first published in Spanish as Las Lágrimas de Nerakhis. Over the past year, the story has also been adapted into a sung-through musical, developed by a team of students and collaborators in St Andrews. The production premiered at the Byre Theatre and marked the first stage interpretation of the work.

We are currently in the process of recording a Cast Recording, and are also preparing for several upcoming live performances, the closest of which is our April 18 Musical in Concert.
