Who we are

"Platero is small, hairy, soft: so soft to the touch that he might be said to be made of cotton, boneless. Only the jet mirrors of his eyes are hard, like two black crystal scarabs."

This is Juan Ramón Jiménez's description of his donkey in the poem "Platero y yo", immortalized in Spanish literature and in the hearts of generations of children and adults alike. We chose Platero as our symbol because of everything he stands for: innocence, whimsy, humility, tenderness, goodness. Platero teaches us that our power over nature involves a responsibility; that magic can be found in the most mundane corners, and that storytelling can change the world.

Our studio was founded in 2024 by a group of students of the University of St Andrews in order to bring together artists and creatives of all types with the common goal of telling stories that make us think about our relationship with nature through fantasy. In the age of AI, we have made a conscious choice to focus on traditional artistic techniques, to bring about results that retain the emotion and imperfection of our own nature.
